Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Associate

The KDD Lab is focused on fundamental research issues in information extraction (IE), probabilistic reasoning, and machine learning. Current applications include epidemiology, bioinformatics, text analytics, visualization, intelligent search, tutoring, critiquing, and IE from multimodal information sources.

We have a new opening for a post-doctoral research fellow (Ph.D. in CS or a related discipline required) and a research associate (M.S. in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics required) starting in May 2009. Research experience in artificial intelligence, cognitive science, computational linguistics, or data mining is preferred. Priority will be given to candidates with research interests in the areas of information retrieval, information extraction, natural language processing, or visualization. Screening begins May 4, 2009 and continues until the position is filled.
