Undergraduate Administrative Assistant

An administrative assistant position is available in the Lab for Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) of the Computer Science (CS) Department at K-State. Responsibilities shall include:
- Clerical responsibilities: scheduling of meetings, talks, research papers for discussion; preparation of calendars; preparation of manuscripts; preparation of grant proposal documents
- Grants administration: budgets, to-do lists, proofreading, web documentation
Necessary Qualifications
- Professional attributes: cooperation, diligence, self-motivation, persistence, responsibility
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in organizing and scheduling appointments with admin software, such as MS Office, Google Calendar, Slack
Ideal Qualifications
- Proficient with mainstream office software: G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets), to-do list, Calendly and project management software (Todolist, Trello)
- Familar with Slack and actively responsible for responding messages
- Previous administrative assistant experience
- Previous work on group projects
- Available to work during the summer
- Ideal candidates should be willing to start at the right away (for overlap with current admin assistant) and remain with the group for at least a year
Additional Details
The lab director is William H. Hsu ( http://www.cs.ksu.edu/~bhsu ).
Compensation starts at $12 per hour with increases after 1-2 semesters, given satisfactory performance. 10+ hours/week as available and needed. It may require extra busy and on call duty at the beginning and at the end of the semester.
