Advanced Topics in AI - CIS 830

CIS 830 - Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence

This course shares a lecture section with CIS 732 - Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition. In the past (2002 - 2011), it was cross-listed with CIS 732. Since 2012, it has been listed as a separate course with shared lectures and in-person venue, different syllabi depending on current topics, and different course requirements. The key differences are:

  • CIS 830 is an advanced topics course and emphasizes current research literature and supervised individual or team projects more than CIS 732
  • There are no exams in CIS 830; this part of the course grade is allocated to the project
  • Other assignments (homework and labs) are also shared with CIS 732 but with some non-overlapping problems
